Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure that will expose a greater amount of tooth to help restore your tooth prosthetically.
Our doctors perform this procedure by incising the gingival tissue around your tooth, temporarily displacing the soft tissue, and then removing a given height of alveolar bone from the circumference of the tooth or teeth.
Once the tooth structure has been exposed, the gum tissue will then be stabilized with sutures and bandages. It will take about one to two weeks to heal and we suggest that you have a follow-up evaluation at that time to ensure the healing process is coming along smoothly.
This procedure is very common and can be performed in less than one hour, and is done using local anesthetics or sedatives. The only area that will be treated is the immediate area surrounding the tooth so there is no risk for your neighboring teeth.
Our staff is dedicated to helping you have a beautiful smile that you can be confident about. We are here to answer your questions and always go above and beyond for every single one of our patients.
