When Will My Baby Start Getting Teeth?

When Will My Baby Start Getting Teeth?

Teeth typically begin to come in around six months of age, however it can happen anytime between three and twelve months. By the time your child is three years old, they should have all of their primary teeth.

If your baby is teething, it means that they are about to receive their first set of teeth called their primary teeth. The lower teeth are usually the first to appear. Upper front teeth will come in one to two months after the first set. Though you may be unsure of why your baby is acting differently at this time, the answer is that they are receiving their first set of teeth.

You may notice your baby biting on their finger or toys, or refusing to eat or drink. This is very common and happens because they are experiencing pain. These symptoms will usually last for about three to five days prior to the tooth erupting, and then disappear as soon as the tooth breaks the skin. Many babies are not affected by teething at all.

If you ever have any questions about teething or would like to schedule an appointment, contact us today at (760) 201-4085.
